Ballarat International Foto Biennale

The biggest photo event in the southern hemisphere comes to Ballarat in 2009. The Ballarat International Foto Biennale will present 150+ photographic events over more than 75 venues throughout Ballarat and Hepburn Shire. Sept 4th - Oct 4th. http://www.ballaratfoto.org/ I just checked out the website and this is seriously one not to miss - I want to move to Ballarat for the month.

On the weekend of 12th and 13th September VAPS will be taking a space at the Ballarat School of Mines for all camera club members to use as a drop-in area/meeting point whilst they are in Ballarat for the Biennale. Tea and coffee will be available to all. An exhibition of prints will be staged on this weekend at the drop-in centre.

Affiliated with the Biennale is the Australian Photographic Collectors Society Inc PHOTOGRAPHY MARKET. Buy, sell, swap, trade. Sunday Sept 13th 10:00am - 4:00pm St Patrick's Hall, Cnr Sturt St & Dawson St sth, Ballarat. For details go to http://www.apcsociety.com.au/

Poll results

Thank you everyone who voted in the poll. The winners were.....more outings and more photography workshops. When organising club activities it is so important to know what members actually want. So if there is any outings or workshops that you would particularly like to see - have a chat to one of the committee members at the next meeting (or send an email) and we will try and work something out.

Kate has done a fabulous job organising more outings, workshops and social events for the rest of the year. Check out UPCOMING CLUB EVENTS on the left panel. Hope to see lots of people there. If you haven't been to any club outings before, I would recommend you come along. Even if it doesn't really sound like something you would normally take photos of (or maybe, especially if it isn't something you would normally take photos of) give it a go. The outings are great fun and a good way to get to know your fellow members better.
